| Technical notes | : I used VSCO to edit a lot of these photos, since I'm not very familiar with the app - mostly letting the app edit the photos and flush out, or brighten some of the color for me. My favorite effect in the app by far is C1 because of the blueish hue it gives photos.
Hi Francesca. Your construction was done very well. I like the way you formatted the numbers above each photo. Everything is centered and spaced well. I like how some photos are horizontal, it's a nice visual break from seeing all vertical photos. Your communication is great. I like the diversity of your photos- some are outside, some are inside, some are in a city, and some are in a rural area. Your conception is also great. Your photos make me look harder at places and items that I would normally not give a second thought to. You give random buildings and signs new meaning. My favorite photo is number six because it leaves me with a lot of questions.
ReplyDeleteHi Francesca! For your construction, you did great! All of your pictures are evenly spaced and numbered. I also like that you had a variety of angles in your pictures. For your communication, I really enjoyed that all of the pictures played off of each other. For example, in pictures 1 and 2, the red fruit on the tree is similar to the red lights on the back of the trolley. Also, in pictures 6 and 8, the yellow stripe on the stair resembles to the yellow light in the drive sign. All of your pictures are very diverse from each other, but still had something in common, which I really enjoyed. Most of your pictures were easy to read, but still mysterious in their own ways, so good job with the mystery aspect! For the conception, I believe your photographs are all from places you’ve visited and objects you use on a daily basis. I like the simplicity of all of your pictures. There’s a clear focus on what you’re photographing, but it still made me stop and think about each one. My vote for POW is picture 6. It has a lot of mystery to it and I like that the color is subtle. Overall, great job!
ReplyDeleteHey Francesca,
ReplyDeleteThe construction was amazing, I really like your numbering scheme. The photos were spaced and centered nicely otherwise.
Your communication was great, you had a wide variety of things, but they all had some sort of story. Some were nature, urban, and others were just everyday things.
Your conception was great. You tried to find some really bright objects and some less aggressive, but colorful objects. The photos really blend together nicely when viewing them.
My favorite photo is #11. I'm not sure what it is, but it looks really cool. You're looking at it through glass with rain/water on it and the effect is amazing.
Hi Francesca,
ReplyDeleteI can see that your concept was variety. It looks like you got out of your apartment, as our professor says, and took a nice group of pictures. You were deliberate and thoughtful in your choices. The pictures are all centered and numbered correctly. You have communicated that you enjoy all types of objects in differing colors. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be number five. Sometimes, in a waiting a waiting room a cup of coffee is the most essential thing there. I'm assuming that is a coffee pot. The size of the pot in relation to the rest of the room signifies its importance. Again, I appreciate your selections.
I really enjoyed your pictures this week! The construction is great, I really like how you spelled out the numbers! Your pictures really ignited a feeling in me that drew me toward your subjects. Even your photos that only had a single object appealed to me because of how you framed them. You really have a good grasp on how to make pictures appealing to viewers and make them see objects in different ways. You did a fine job of extracting color in a way the adds to the conception of the picture. My favorite picture is number one! The contrast of colors between the tree and the ground drew me in and the bright red of the berries pulled the picture together. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHey Francesca! You took some great photos this week. Your Construction was great. Your pictures were centered, evenly spaced, and numbered. I thought your Communication was good. I like the variety of scenes you included: city, nature, indoors, objects, etc. I felt like you were taking me on a tour of your day. It made it interesting to look through your blog. Finally, the Conception was well done. I like the variety of color (full colored pictures versus pops of color in pictures). I like your use of natural light. I also like that your app filters did not take away from the natural beauty of your pictures. My vote for Picture of the Week is #1. I really enjoy nature and this picture just captures it beautifully. I love of pop of red in the green tree. And the light blue sky is a nice use of negative space. Awesome job this week!
ReplyDeleteFrancesca,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your pictures this week and loved the construction of your blog. I like how you did something different when numbering them by spelling them out. Your communication was good. The different pictures showed me what your passionate about and it was excited to go from one picture to the next. For conception, I like the colors in each picture and how one color is the focus in each picture. For that reason my favorite is number 1, because the brightness of the cranberry's on the tree are so exciting!
Hi Francesca,
ReplyDeleteI'm really torn between #8 and #11 – both of them really speak to me, personally, and seem like your strongest and most engaging photos this week. Conceptually and constructively, you really played with a lot of subjects here, as well as various themes. You also communicated most of them in ways that read clearly and visually articulate (not sure if that makes sense, but for whatever reason, that phrase comes to mind). You depict a wide range of atmospheres, and I really dig it.
Hi Francesca,
ReplyDeleteI can't tell if you're around Philly or not, which automatically makes your photos interesting. But I especially like photo 6, where the yellow line leads to the 'no admittance' sign. It's really effective. Eleven is also a fun combination of texture, color and mystery- i have no guess as to what that could be. Overall, your framing of photos is especially nice. One thing I would suggest is getting more human subjects to capture more emotion!
