I shot my pictures using a Galaxy Note 2 and Note 3.  I continued using the app Snapseed to edit my pictures.  I used multiple filters, including: Vintage, Black & White, Drama, and more.  I also used the Brush to either add light or dark to certain areas in pictures.

My story begins by showing the crazy characters.  It then takes the viewer on a journey into the forest.  You go down the mysterious path and view what the characters see throughout their adventure.  In the middle of the forest, the characters come upon a creepy house and take you inside.  Finally, the characters get out of the forest and discover a house full of different kinds of antique treasures.

The new pictures are: 4, 5, 12, 14, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 26, and 27.

  1. Great job this semester! I really enjoy your photos and can always see your unique perspective in each one. Your final portfolio is organized very well! I like how it was a story and you provided a description of your thinking at the end. Your pictures all have a vintage feel to them which makes the whole portfolio cohesive. My favorite is #10. Really great job this semester!

  2. Hi Jay,
Your final portfolio was really great, each chapter tells a story that builds off the previous one, really cool. My favorite photo is #14. It reminds of scary movies and moments as a kid.

  3. Hi Jay. Congratulations a great semester! Your final portfolio turned out great. I love how all the photos were either black and white, sepia, or very faded in color. This common theme throughout was very visually pleasing. Photo of the year for me would have to be number 24 because I love the way the light is hitting the vase and casting sparkles on the wall.

  4. Hi Jay,

I feel like you just took me through the past after looking at your portfolio! It's definitely clear to see you're into vintage, and older things. You also do a really good job of taking modern pictures and making them look vintage, or used. Photo of the year for me is your third self portrait. Maybe it's just me, but I knew you were going for Twiggy as soon as I saw it, and I'm really fascinated by the idea of making yourself look like someone else, and using black and white effects to your advantage. You're right in the center of the photo, looking your viewers straight in the eye. Great job this semester!

  5. Hi Jay! For your construction, all of your pictures are organized really nicely into chapters and they’re all centered and evenly spaced. You also have a good mixture of horizontal and vertical pictures and various angles. For the communication, your pictures can be read pretty well. Picture #21 is the most mysterious to me. I’m really curious as to what the wheel belongs to! For the conception of your pictures, it looks like you wanted to stick to the vintage/memory theme and you did really well with it! My vote for picture of the year is picture #24. The way that the light reflects off of the vase is stunning. It also reminds me tinker bell and childhood memories. Great job this semester!

  6. Hey Jay! Your photos are some of my favorites this whole semester. You've got a creative eye and look for unique subjects to shoot. I like the lack of color in this set and think it fits your style really well. The chapter titles are creative and give the portfolio an adventure feel. You're leading the way and not letting the viewer lead the way in a sense. Very cool. My photo of the year is #21 the wheelbarrow. The vintage quality is top notch 1887 rustiness. Great job!

  7. Hi Jay, thank you for entertaining me during the semester. I enjoyed the story here and felt like I read a wonderful fantastic book. I got impressed at many pictures (#5, #12, #17...), but if I have to choose one, I would say #24. Very beautiful and fantastic to see that treasure!

  8. Hi Jay,
Very Good final portfolio. I appreciate your pictures. Each one fits the chapter title. you took care in your editing. You always seemed to telling a story that way easy to follow. Number 11 is my favorite. I live in the city, but I appreciate the outdoors. I've come across many twisted branches along the way. Great expression this semester!
