In picture in #13 looks like Allison is laying on her back, when she took it. Light looks as if it is going to fall onto the ceiling. The lighter shading is a good color for the walls. It also looks like there is a reflection of the light fixture. It's hard to tell where the picture is taken. To take the picture from this position gives the observer a lot to think about.
Picture 14 has great line work and the Hundai logo made me think it was a car for a second. The contrast between the lines and the concrete really make the photo pop. Great job at taking a mysterious photo.

Hi Allison, The construction was good, everything was centered and spaced the same. I think putting the numbers above or below the pictures would like better than on the side though. Your communication was great. I like the picture from Alter, I'm there everyday and always think the flags are so cool. Everything was fun to look at and mysterious. Your conception was great. You took photos that were inside and outside and with different types of weather. I think some of them you could have used a tone instead of just black and white. They could also be bigger. My favorite photo is #6. I really like snow photos. You can see it was after the snow storm and the roads weren't paved, but some people drove through it.
Allison, Your construction was good, as every photo was centered. However, you could improve by positioning the number above the photos instead of the the bottom left. Your communication was great. I liked all the different angles you shot your photos from. I also liked all the different locations/climates. They went from being in a very snowy environment to being on a sandy beach. Your conception was great. I felt like the photos were about architecture inside, and the weather and elements outside. My favorite photo is number 1 because I really like the rock structure, and I like the mystery of not knowing what lies behind it.
The construction of your photos is very subjective, but some are hard to tell what you want the viewers to focus on. Others, the subjects and other content surrounding them were positioned really well!
In terms of communication - I can't quite tell what you're interested in yet. BUT photo #14 does tell me you have some interest in things that are out of place, which I can relate to. Sometimes when I'm walking to class I think, "how did this completely out of place object get here?" Because you never know what you're going to find in Philly.
In terms of conception, I think your photos say a lot about how you get from place to place and what's either in your way or around you along the way.
My favorite photo is SP #1. The use of light makes the shadows on your face, and the mystery of the photo work really well. It makes me wonder if you're trying to say "BOO" and scare someone, or if you are scared.
Hi Allison! Your construction was good. Your pictures were all centered and numbered. I think it would have been easier to follow if the numbers were also centered and maybe on top of the pictures instead of below them though. Also, it looks like all of your pictures are purely black and white, but maybe some of them have some tonal effects to them that just isn’t obvious. For your communication, most of the pictures were easy to read. However, picture #1 really resonated with me, which is why I’m voting for it for picture of the week. It reminds me of this beach in Greece that was covered with mountainous rocks. Also, I like that I can’t tell whether or not the rocks lead to a dead end or if there’s more to it after you pass the rocks. In terms of conception, your photographs seem to revolve around travel. It looks like you travelled somewhere and came back to the city and then travelled again to the beach, which is very interesting and mysterious.
Construction: Good since they are centered and some spaces between pictures. How come picture 1, 2, 3, and 4 look smaller than the others on your blog?
Communication: You took pictures at many different places! Beach and snow remind me of very different temperature between summer and winter. What is the dark part on picture 11's right top part?
Conception: I could see a foot of yours (on pic#4...yours or somebody else's?) so it is great you share a part of your daily life with me. I would like to know the conceptions of picture 12 and 15 because the model of each pic is the same bottle.
My fav picture is 1. It is black and white so it is impossible to know their color, plus those stones have random shapes and I am very curious where you took the picture.
I really enjoyed looking at your pictures! They gave me a sense of adventure and wonder! I can tell that you try to find angles and viewpoints that most people don't see at a first glance. They communicated the message of mystery very well through your use of lighting and contrast. I love picture number 13! When I look at it the different lighting really catches my eye. I also like how the objects in the photo frame the light fixture in the middle, but then draw the eye outward. All together, really great photos!
The way you frame your pictures is really interesting. I can tell you like to play with various angles and depths of field, which makes some of these images super-dynamic! Like Kathryn, I liked image #13 – it really plays with light in a way that draws me in and all around the image but doesn't keep me TRAPPED, per se. I can't wait to see what you shoot next!
My first thought upon looking at your photos is that they're really sharp and clean, especially 1 and 2. My impression about what you're trying to communicate with these is that there are interesting things worth looking at in your daily life, especially if you simply look up, or look down on something. I also enjoy the lighting and your expression in your 1st self-portrait.
