  1. Great final portfolio! I like your categories! They are simple, but effective in showing off your unique perspective. All of your photos really sold out to me all semester. You have a way of presenting a simple subject in a way that makes the viewer question. You also have great use of lines and frames in your photos! My favorite is #2 in places. Great work this semester!

  3. Hello Jake,
I liked the chapters you picked, they were simple and to the point. I actually used your People chapter as inspiration for my People You Know chapter. You did a great job this semester making all your photos look really high quality which isn't always easy with smartphone cameras. My favorite photo is the train from the Things chapter. I think I commented on that photo before because I ride SEPTA to Temple everyday.
Sidenote: I actually think I saw you at/around the Temple train station last week or the week before. Maybe, maybe not.

  4. Hi Jake, congratulations on a great semester! I really enjoyed looking at your portfolio. I like how large the images are and how you titled your chapters with unique text and symbols. Photo of the year for me would have to be number five under places. I can tell this is at eastern state because I've been there before, but for someone who hasn't, it's very mysterious. I also love the composition of the photo as it seems to have a vanishing point.

  5. Hi Jake,

Your final portfolio is so clear and clean, like your photos! I've enjoyed looking at your photos this semester because it looks like you've went to a lot of well-know places in Philadelphia, but you show your viewers these places from angles they've never seen them from before. I can't put my finger on it, but all of your photos seem to be either edited similarly, or something. Going down your portfolio, the content of each photo is so different, but because the way you chose to edit your photos, they all flow really well. My photo of the year is #1 in places. You took the lighting an used it to your advantage to shoot a successful photo that people can relate to, as well as get a peek into your life. Great job this semester!

  6. Hi Jake! Awesome job this semester! I really enjoyed looking through your final portfolio. You had a great variety of subjects, angles, and distances. You also had really creative titles and I thought they added to creating a story. I wish you numbered your pictures though because it would make referencing them easier. It was hard to choose but my favorite picture of the year would have to go to Picture #5 from the chapter “Places”. I definitely get the sense of mystery in this photo. The light at the end of the tunnel draws me and the railings direct my eyes towards the middle of the photo. I also like how the foreground is dark and gets gradually lighter. Really great job!

Your choice of photos have been great this semester. This final portfolio is no exception. These pictures reveal that you like adventure. You made an effort to take a variety of objects and settings. My favorite is the red chair in the things section.I enjoy looking at your postings.

  8. Hi Jake! I enjoyed your final portfolio. I like that all those pictures sizes are big. The second picture of "people" is great. The angle and the object, people in the wheel, makes the photograph wonderful. I like the very first picture of "Everything Else the World Has to Offer." Power to the People! My best is 4th picture of "places." It shows beautiful garden and vintage vibe. You did a great edit!
