Memories
Not only does Vintage Villa contain memories, the business is a memory. It is closed.
Victims of spring cleaning
My mother's bedroom is a precious place to me.
We celebrated birthdays of church members.
The sign is still up at a family business that closed 15 years ago.
Church
An important activity in my family's life.
This beautiful building that once housed a church is now an apartment building.
I thought this window was beautiful as I looked up at it.
Christ Memorial housed a church, school, and the seminary my husband attended.
This church is one of the many empty churches in Philadelphia
that are used as community meeting places
I manipulated this door with the help of Edit Lab just to see how it would look. It's scary and looks
more like a castle than a church, but I like it.
Closed Door
I love how this door looks now.
This closed door belongs to Glory Baptist Church,
the first church we attended as a family.

This door is a part of a historic building in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia. I see it as I ride the trolley. I did not realize I would be in the picture.
A door on Lancaster Avenue, changed with ECP Photo
A business that used to belong to one of my neighbors.
Take a Ride
This bike just looked kind of cool.
Just a motorcycle

This truck was so massive, I had to take its picture.
This was an ordinary car, so I made it special with Edit Lab.
I wanted a picture of a person riding a bike. This I what I got.
Modge Podge
Leftovers from renovations done at my neighbor's house
This picture was taken from in front of a house that has been abandoned for 20 years or more. It looks like someone is cleaning it up.

My Two Faces
Judith,
ReplyDeleteI really liked your photos and can tell you put a lot of time and effort into it. I really enjoyed the Churches and Doors sections. My favorite one is the first one in the closed door sections.
Allison,
ReplyDeleteThat one is my favorite too.
Hi Judith,
ReplyDeleteI like that you added a little blurb about each photo and why it's special to you. Some of the photos seem to be really low quality though. My favorite photo is the church door photo that is edited to have a blur effect.
Hi Judith, congratulations on a semester well done! Your final portfolio is amazing! I really like how you included a description for each photo, it really made me relate to you and understand why you took each photo. My favorite photo is the last one in the church series because it stands out and makes a peaceful church shocking and exciting.
ReplyDeleteHi Judith,
ReplyDeleteYou're pictures this semester have a lot of history behind them, and it seems as though you have a thing for doors! It's interesting seeing what everyone in the class is drawn to, and I think you've done a good job of conveying that. I would say photo of the year is actually #1. You shot the photo really well, making sure to line the edges of the window with the edges of the frame. It reminds me of a shop from medieval times.
Hi Judith! Good job this semester! I enjoyed looking through your final portfolio and seeing how you added to your past pictures. I felt like you took me on a journey through your neighborhood. I like that you gave information about each photo. It allowed me to connect to it more. I wished that you numbered the pictures though because it would have made referencing the pictures easier. I enjoyed the “Church” chapter the most. My favorite picture of the year goes to Picture #4 from the chapter “Church”. The coloring makes it very serene. I like that you took the picture at an angle and not straight on. I also like how you created dimension by having the tree branch in the front, then the church, and then the cloud in the background. It made appear more 3 dimensional. Good job!
ReplyDeleteHey Judith! I like your photos but wish they weren't so blurry or small. It's hard to see the finer detail in some of them. I like what you took photos of though. They give us a good sense of who you are as a person. You seem like the nice religious girl from the city. My choice for your picture of the year goes to the first picture. Is that a new one? The way you edited it lends itself to vintage, and the composition and colors of the photo are very nice. Good job!
ReplyDeleteHi Judith! Thank you for putting some explanation about each picture. I also enjoyed bigger size pictures, but I just wish you could upload non-blurry ones (probably the original sizes of them are small). I like 5th picture of church which looks shocking and bright a bit, and the next one, closed door, which is pretty vintage/classic. The best one is the very first vintage villa one. It has vintage vibe, of course, but you edited the picture really well. Overall you are good at editing pictures!
